Pour a Glass: Table Talk- Short and Sweet

This is a short and sweet post today. Take the time to answer the journal prompt and reflect. Be gentle with yourself this week sweet ones.

Short and Sweet

Hi sweet ones. This week I’m aiming for short and sweet vibes. It’s been a week. My son has been extra independent, extra vocal, extra.. extra. Also known as the terrible twos. Again it’s been a week, I haven’t done much but manage. What are we sipping on tonight? I’m having a glass of red, the same wine from last week. Nothing new, just familiar.

Baby Steps

I managed despite being absolutely drained, to wake up before Kingston almost all week. Not by as much as I wanted but hey, baby steps. I wanted to aim for five o’clock but I kept hitting snooze and getting up at 6. So all that means is this week I should be able to push it back an hour and make it to five, or at least five thirty. I think what helped me to get up was not putting the pressure of jumping out of bed as soon as my alarm went off. I would turn my alarm off and allow myself to lay there, blinking until my vision was no longer blurry and then I would get up, head to the bathroom, come back make the bed, brush my teeth, and then just sit on the bed and think about my next steps. It was nice but I still want to wake up earlier to make sure I can make the most of my time I think part of me was worried to dive into anything serious knowing Kingston would be up In about 30 minutes. Truthfully that’s all I can really say about this week it was really that rough haha.

Valentines Day

I hope you guys had a good Valentines day! I would love to hear the highlights of your night so comment down below what your favorite part was. Even if it was just you, or you and your girls. If it was just you, YOU BETTER have treated yourself! Valentines is a day for love, doesn’t matter if its self love. I actually spent Valentines day alone not by choice but Sean had an emergency call for work as we were headed to the restaurant. Very big bummer but I’m sure it was worse for him because he had to actually go and work. I ended up laying in bed and listening to music until I fell asleep. I was pretty upset at first and I had to really reflect. Sean and I have a great village around us, always willing to watch Kingston so we can go out to dinner and spend time on just us. Valentines Day is a great reminder to share love and make time to cherish the people you love but it’s also a big scam to get money.  In my opinion lol. If you can go all out for valentines day share that same love and cherish your loved ones every day.

Journal Prompt

I’m going to end the post here. I know it’s a very short post, I’m giving you sweet ones all I have at the moment. I appreciate you coming to read, I am proud of you for taking time for yourself to be here, and just because the post is over doesn’t mean you cant continue your time. I will leave you with a journal prompt. I encourage you to take the time to do it. You can write it, ponder it, type it, whatever works for you. Also I hope you’ve picked out a scripture verse to memorize, don’t think I forgot. Anyways here’s the journal prompt:

What feels heavy right now — and is it actually mine to carry?

Just because something was handed to you, doesn’t mean you have to carry it. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is lay it down. I will save you a seat at the next table my sweet ones. Be gentle with yourselves this week.
